Favorite contacts not showing in car phone app

With the newest update I see that if you have favorite contacts set up in your phone they should now appear in the car’s phone app. I only have: Messages, Recents, Contacts and Dialer. No Favorites. I have iPhone 6s. Could this be a problem? I am also unable to reply to texts but I can receive them and they are read to me. Someone mentioned in another thread that an update to iOS 13 fixed this issue for them. Unfortunately the 6s can’t be updated to 13.

I have an android phone running the lastest version of their andriod based operating system and have the same problem . It would be good if this happened that Tesla would allow you to add your own numbers directly into the car as well.
