There are certain leaf blowers that are up to the job, but the air needs to be output by a narrow channel for them to be effective so ensure the cubic feet per minute rating is high.

Before anyone does have a go at their car with a leaf blower, please make sure it's spotless. You wouldn't want to blow any projectiles from the leaf blower to your car that could damage the paint.

Mine came with a simple tube that narrows the outlet. It cleans very effectively, I use it for all sorts of stuff from computer keyboards to the car.

The best option is a proper air compressor but they cost 10x as much for a rubbish one.

Is that a Nissan?

First try clean using the Big Boi mini today, certainly not as fast as towel drying, I’ll watch some videos on it tonight, see if there are any specific techniques I should be using.

Any tips @Medved_77 ?
No specific tips other than using the wide nozzle for the big panels and the circular nozzle for the finicky areas (mirrors, cameras etc)

Which version did you get? There's quite a jump in displacement between the regular mini and the mini plus.

After a bit of advice from you car cleaning obsessive lot if possible....

Have to admit that before I had my MS I usually went to the nearest hand washing place through pure laziness however now that I have the S and it has been fully PPF'd and ceramic coated I realise that it should not be going to those places and I should be taking care of it myself.
To that end, I really don't want (or need) a pressure washer of the Karcher sort just to clean the car so have been looking for a snow foam gun that will fit on the end of a normal garden hose (preferably) one of those hoses that grows and then shrinks once the water has left.

I have looked in the normal places and have found some but the problem I have is that I don't seem to be able to find anything definitive as to whether they will definitely fit or not.

I have linked to the items that I have mentioned along with everything I think I may need, any advice is truly welcome for this cleaning obsessive novice!

Hi Jerryjal,

For all the car cleaning products (buckets, shampoo etc..) I've put a decent list together here, including a snow foam lance that you don't need a pressure washer for (the Gloria one near the bottom).

Cleaning your Tesla - TeslaEV.co.uk

Hose wise, just make sure it's suitable for your home water pressure, I had replace my hose as my original one split due to the local water pressure!

Dave.
Thank you Dave, I will take a look.

One thing to be mindfull off is the Wool wash Mitt.

I had the Meguiars one and after some time (about 1 year) its just fell apart - the wool just fell off the mitt when washing one day. I did love using it tho.

@Jerryjal so how have you got on? My mains pressure isn't anywhere near good enough so I use a Karcher as well as the bit's you linked to
Well, I have bitten the bullet and bought a Karcher K2 full control along with the snow foam lance, mitt, ph neutral shampoo and buckets etc that were on the David's site.
This week (at some stage) will see my first attempt of snow foaming and cleaning the car myself. Makes me sound so so lazy but really haven't been that bothered about taking my previous cars to a car wash/hand wash but can't do it with the S, now that it has the PPF and ceramic coating it would do more harm than good.

if you can get the car to look like the pic in @RedUn's post above you've cracked the snow foam aspect of the process. TBH I'm not overly convinced the foam does a great deal, but it's good fun and looks great. Unless the car is properly dirty, which of course it is more so at the moment, I often find the snow foam and then a good rinse off is enough and I don't need to go tot he wash mitt and two bucket stage.

Pics awaited :)

I find that as long as the paint is well prepared underneath and you do it often enough then like you say a snowfoam and rinse off will get it something like 90% clean, ideal for winter driving.

I use magifoam btw, works a treat.
