Finalized May 6th...odds on taking delivery in June?

So I just finalized by S85, silver, grey, pano, tech, child seats, parking sensors....on May 6th.
I live in Richmond VA, and plan on taking delivery in Raleigh NC (technically the Rockville MD service center is closer, but I'm not interested in dealing with DC traffic in the summer).

My estimated delivery window is 'July'.

Does anyone think that Tesla will try to shove a few Model Ss out the door before the end of June to help sales figures for Q2?
I'd love to shave a few weeks off the ole waiting period!

I've seen some similar posts where folks have taken delivery for S85, in the eastern half of the country in well under 2 months.....and I was hoping the end of Q2 would help in that regard.
Thoughts?
...just passin time...tic toc tic toc.

Thanks!

I confirmed May 3rd, and I just got my VIN about 9:00 p.m. CDT last night (44493). I have not heard from the delivery specialist, but the sales representative told me that the car is scheduled to be off the line June 16th and to expect delivery ten days after that.

Dang...I got all excited with those June dates above....but still haven't heard anything.
Welp, it's nothing a little compulsive site refreshing can't take care of!
great news for you guys smsprague and Steve. Possibly the news is spreading from az to tn...then va.
thanks for the update.

Well well well,,,,the power of the compulsive refresh has shined warmly upon me. Just checked my tesla...and my estimated delivery date changed from July...to late June.
Good times.

Factory will be shut down for 10 days in early July, they normally close to give emplyees a vacation & do some tooling but this year they will be adding production so August sounds right if cars aren't out the door by end of June.

How did you guys get such specific info on delivery dates and when to expect the MS to actually come off the line? I just called in this morning, and they didn't have any information that wasn't already posted on my tesla. I was just trying to sniff around for some extra details once I got bumped up to 'late June'...but no luck. I'll just be patient I supposed, but I was curious how you two actually ended up with relatively specific data.

ajw,

I received an email from my Tesla DS. It was very concise with bullets to make sure:

I was happy with my options
How I was going to pay
If the info on the registration was correct
If I was setup with the correct charging infrastructure
Delivery date and time of my appointment and if that worked for me.

I was very impressed.

Nice to hear Tx02Ag!
So you must be driving your new car as I type? Congrats......let me know your 'first day impressions' when you get a chance.

You were exactly right. My wife and I took the day off and after the 9 am delivery at the Houston Service Center, we drove down to the coast for lunch and to test out the car on lightly travelled highways.

Even though I had a test drive before ordering and watched the delivery video many times, I was still blown away by seeing it all up close. I'm very happy with my options but I'm sure I could be convinced I would have liked more. Everything was flawless and exceeded my expectations. My wife is not at all into cars, but she was driving after our first stop.

The thing that sticks with me the most is how well everything just worked. As soon as I could form the thought "wouldn't it be cool if..." I would see that is exactly how it worked.

I will take a road trip to Austin this weekend to tryout the Superchargers in Columbus and San Marcos.

Enjoy the the time reading everything on here, the anticipation makes delivery that much sweeter, although the enthusiasm doesn't fade in the least after it is over.

Nice to hear Tx02Ag....congrats again!

I just received my VIN# last night(5-14-14)....#45160. I finalized on 5-6-14.
Estimated delivery was bumped from July...up to Late June.
Current status is still 'sourcing parts'.
Still no contact from a DS.....but at least things are progressing.

Enjoy that new ride....great to hear there were no major (or minor) issues!

@AJW - glad to see that you have the cherished VIN and that the dashboard changed to late June. I have been routinely communicating with my Owners Advisor. He said that my car was scheduled to be on the line the week of 6/16 (obviously looking at the screens once the VIN is assigned), that the delivery specialist would be in touched early this upcoming week, and it is pretty clear from other comments on this board that it is a 7-10 day end of line to consumer time line. It lines up perfectly with the late June entry on the dashboard.

Greetings, all.

I placed my order 5/9 and confirmed it 5/19. My estimated delivery had been Late July... until today. It was bumped up to LATE JUNE! (I know the change was made today because I am unable to refrain from obsessively logging in to My Tesla on a more-than-daily basis.)

All this time I had been worried about the new orders from China, the July factory shutdown, etc., etc. I will now have to keep my fingers crossed for approximately 5 weeks.

I hate to ask, but how common is it to have your delivery estimate advanced, only to have it delayed later? I would think that Tesla would want to be careful about managing expectations.
