Finally hit the 1/4 mile with my 21P

Hey guys, with my current work schedule, it has made it very difficult to hit the track. Last Sunday, I finally managed to make it out. Made it to the track at 90% soc. That's the highest I will be able to get soc. I charged to a 100% at the closest SC and babied it with no accessories running in 90* heat to the track. Lol. Made a total of 6 runs before track closed. I really wanted to keep running into a lower soc to measure the losses related to charge. But didn't happen. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the results. Car is a bone stock 21 performance delivered in q4 of 2020 with 13k on it. Extremely consistent from 90 to 80% soc. Just wish these cars had a few more mph on the top end. And maybe a touch harder hit. Would really like a 1.5x 60'. Anyways, here's the slips. All runs are right lane as noted with my soc with all runs with slip start turned on. I did notice a slight spin on every launch. I tried to sneak into the left lane that was prepped, but they kept kicking me to out. Was trying to nail down a solid launch.

And a quick snapshot of my bat temps and 0-60 on one of the runs. I should note, my best 0-60 has been a 3.19 on my winter 18s fresh off a supercharge.

Yeah. That would be great. Even a trap of 120.xx would be sweat. I'd happily take that... Time will tell if there's power left on the table
there's plenty of power still there. Looks like you have scanmytesla, just chart out motor output logs from a run and you will see that at 45mph the rear motor is pulling power, then at about 55mph the front one starts pulling power. Been a year since I've looked at one, but pretty sure those are the points where they start falling in an even, concave shape, which means it's being tuned out.

I'll definitly monitor motor output in a little more detail next time out. Tha k's.

OP, that's some unreal consistency! I really need to get mine to the track.

I mean, we're on a Model 3 subsection. What else could 21P stand for?
I didn't ask the question, Wahbash did.

Also that's why we have an acronym sticky post so people don't get confused. 21P is not in that list so now we have someone asking.

My 21 LR with the boost was running 11.82 @ 115.5

But my 60ft is only 1.91. I feel that's half because its not a P model, but I also feel the minivan primacy all season tires are holding back the launch. Can't wait to try out some stickier tires

the 60ft is really where the Performance version gets ahead of the LR + Boost models. I am running 1.91 60ft times, I would love some 1.7s

The Plaid model S is in the 1.5x range, so I don’t expect you’ll see that without a new powertrain upgrade

Have you guys tried slip start vs not? Until this post I hadn't even thought of that.
I hate how slow the first 1-3 ft is.
It won’t help anything. If you are having some trouble accelerating, just make sure you turn off the obstacle aware acceleration setting, I have had that slow me up occasionally. It’s probably not your issue, but sharing just in case.

Yeah, I've got that off. Pretty much anything I can turn off is off. It just seems like if I'm rolling at 2mph and stop the throttle, it's VIOLENT. If I'm at a dead stop, it feels like there's a power ramp on. I assume it's software based, but maybe that's just the physics surrounding an electric motor?

Do you guys know if using hold (instead of creep or roll) and then stomping the throttle is the best accel, or if holding both brakes and throttle and releasing the brake is faster?

I should really pick up a Draggy box!
