Is there a good way to find out if the CPO car I am looking at Tesla website has been used as demo/loaner vehicle or it was a lease return. Can the sales agent disclose this info?

As George says. Only way it could have been a loaner and listed as a CPO is that it was a loaner first, then sold to a customer and then ended up as a CPO (two owners). All demo cars are sold as "inventory".
A CarFax report will show the previous owners and will list the 'type of owner'. Under there it will say 'personal lease', etc.
So there you can at least learn if it's been a lease or regular owner. If it was a loaner then I would think maybe the math between the dates and odometer should give a clue.
Interesting. Looking at the Carfax (more than 10 of them) of used 85D, I only see one previous owner, which means that loaners might not be reported in Carfax.
Honestly I wouldn't be concerned by purchasing a loaner as long as the car itself is in great shape. My car was used as a loaner then purchase by someone and then sold back to me. the car had 38 000 kilometers and was flawless.
