Find out what options your car actually has? (high pwr charger)

Is there any way I can independently (from the MCU, ideally) find out what options the car has? I'm trying to determine whether my S (2016) has the high power charger option or not. Was told originally (verbally) that it did, but there's no mention of it on the bill of sale, and I can't charge above 16A. Not that it would have stopped me buying the car mind you

Have heard elsewhere that it's a SW enable thing, so there may be the chance of getting it enabled. Can anyone confirm this too?

This thread suggests that it is indeed SW locked, and that Tesla gave the unlock away for free eventually (in some markets at least). I'll pursue this with Tesla.
