Thanks to all on this forum who contributed to this thread: Upgraded To Performance Brakes

I have a LR but love red calipers. It's not enough to paint the brakes as I don't like the rear C-clamp style and doesn't match the front Brembos. What I did was purchase from the SC rear brake calipers, rotors and wiring harness and painted the front.

Some challenges:
  1. Matching the color of the rear PUP brakes
    1. I tried all kinds of off the shelf colors and none were the exact match.
  2. Completely removing and painting the front calipers
    1. I don't want to do a half-ass job by just masking and spraying the front
  3. Re-bleeding brake lines

Here's the final result.

I guess I can't edit once I've posted. So here's the pertinent info:

  1. Rear MY Part #s:
    1. WIRE COMP R,EPB - PLUS(1098481-00-C)
    2. WIRE COMP L,EPB - PLUS(1098480-00-C)
    3. Performance Rear Calipers: (1044643-00-F & 1044644-00-F)
    4. Performance Rear Rotors: (1044636-00-D) x2
  2. Paint color: GM Performance Torch Red
    1. I had a local paint shop scanned in the rear calipers and matched the closest factory color of all car manufacturers. He tweaked it a bit w/ a little more red. Color info in attached:

BTW, the MY front calipers are the same as the performance ones. Just not painted (Just compare w/ my pics against the PUP fronts)

Awesome mod.
Where did you get the splash guard, is that for Model 3?

Keen eyes! Yes, that's from a M3. I had to do some creative cutting of the fender liner to get the splash guard tabs to snap in. Only used the front. The rear didn't need it as the rear bumper tapers in towards the rear. I wasn't too concerned about cutting a 1/4" by 2" notch on the liner. I'd figure when they do make a proper My splashguard, that it'll hide the cuts anyways.
