Can't wait - I've been too lazy to plug in later at night during off peak hours so this will cut my energy costs by at least 30%.

Please post a link (especially with borrowed pics). Thanks.

Here's the link for the discussion and pic on the TM forums: 43-scheduled-charging-does-anyone-has-yet

It was seen on a demo car in Europe. No reports of it in North America yet.

Cool. I hope this feature is disabled for Superchargers.

    "12:00"...?

From reading the full thread I suppose this is in Europe and they're on the 24-hour clock, which makes this noon, but seems like an odd start time.

There's a long history of electronicky (it's a word now... ;) ) things defaulting to 12 (AM or PM) when they don't know any better (wall power pulled, etc.). At least on the Model S, the 12 isn't blinking.

Remember that these settings are stored PER CHARGING LOCATION so as long as you don't set a charge timer at a given location it will charge on plug-in. The Roadster works this way as well.

This would be exactly how our Leaf works, fast charging doesn't follow the charging schedule.

I need this feature. I arrived home at on-peak hours and was supposed to plug-in before going to bed. Guess who forgot. :)

Colin, I plugin as soon as I get home but, stop charging (either from the touchscreen or from the mobile app). I start charging again just before I go to bed using the mobile app.

I really want this too. My method isn't that bad but I still have to wake up at 5 after 11pm to set my car to charge.

    My current method:

Plug in the car every time it is in my garage. I do this immediately.
Stop charging via touchscreen, or phone app (if not during super off-peak time).
Set daily alarm on phone for 11:03pm. "Charge Car"
Open phone app, press 'start charging' button. Wait to see car is charging.
    Go to bed.

    I am too slow.

If you have some facility with computers, you can set up your PC to start the charging at a preset time, using CRON. See Model S REST API

I think i am bit lucky here, i got Blink charger (free) when we purchased nissan leaf 2 years ago. This charger has a timer built in . I am using this timer for late hour charging :) .
when i saw this option 2 years ago , I thought why would anyone need this feature .. Now i know why !

hopefully tesla will release the new firmware for Timer Charging .

Roadster owners will recognize it. At the can-bus level, the charge time is minutes past midnight (less one) in local time zone.
