Firmware 4.3 - basic charging scheduling

Got my update this morning, and updated at work. I can finally remove the 12:05AM daily alarm I setup on my iPhone to remember to charge the car.

When I plugged my HPWC in, I also got a notice about limiting the charge to 60A (the default charge amp actually changed from 80 to 60 once I plugged the HPWC in).

Small bump in the road on the HPWC, but I'm just more glad that scheduled charging is finally here.

....my funky turn signal is fixed and working fine, and (this is weird) I can now hear the so-called "high pitch whine" both when starting out and when under re-gen. If the whine is a coincidence, it's a pretty good one! I don't find it in any way objectionable, but it was a very noticeable "not there before/there after" thing.

I updated mine to 4.3 and also fixed my turn signal problem. That is great. I also have this high pitch wine (definitely was not there before). I wonder what causes that noise and should I be worried. The sound does not bother me, but not sure if this is a problem or not. Anyone else have this problem?

I updated yesterday morning and notice the whine as well, especially under heavy acceleration. It does not really bother me either but I think I liked total silence better. At least we know it is not an anomaly as it seems like most of us are experiencing it.

Temperatures have remained pretty consistent at night here in the low 30's before and after the update... and after 2 nights with 4.3, I "lost" only 5 miles. I'm sure if I was still on 4.2 it would have been closer to a 15 mile loss.

Remember that the 4.3 update includes the "adjustment" to the rated range display to account for a cold pack....

Aaron

Would love to get more data from folks on this. I just upgraded to 4.3 yesterday but didn't bother to check my rated miles last night to monitor vampire loss overnight. Weather is warming up here in NorCal slightly so shouldn't see a lot of weather-related draining.

I also have the whine after the 4.3 update. I'm curious to know exactly what it is and what changed to start it happening? I also prefer the silence.

Has anyone with textile seats noticed that the reverse mirror tilt option is no longer there?

Better:
Pano responds faster
The key fob is works much more reliably (still a delay to open door right after handles retract)
I noticed that it's possible to select music source from the right hand scroll wheel. Is this new in 1.25.45?
Less range drop when car is sitting.

Is the whine mentioned the motor whine while driving or the horrible squeal at full throttle when the controller seems to go into oscillation?

I had 4.3 (1.25.40) for two weeks, and got a push of 4.3 (1.25.45) this morning.
(Timed charging has been working great, BTW)

I saw no changes in the release notes, and have had no chance to look for or test any changes.
Does anyone know what the fixes are in this version?

My upgrade to 4.3 occurred while a Tesla ranger was working on my car for an unrelated problem. After his servicing (and the firmware update) were completed we test-drove the car and I realized the mirrors no longer tilted in reverse - the setting option was missing from the touch screen! The technician entered his secret "service" code in the display, and re-enabled the mirror tilt option. After rebooting the touch screen the mirror tilt setting displayed properly on the control surface again. I had to put the car in reverse and readjust the mirrors (when the switch disappeared it lost previous setting information), but all is working properly now.

Short answer - if you no longer have the "mirror auto-tilt" switch appearing on the "doors & locks" settings page after a firmware update, contact Tesla - this is a bug.

I got the same push this AM, but haven't accepted it as of yet. Haven't seen much on any of the boards about it yet.

Got it this afternoon after having .40 since March 23rd. Looks like they're pushing it out enmasse

I had an issue with my iPhone over Bluetooth, after installing 4.3. Wouldn't hear the other side over the speakers during a phone call, and the other end of the line wouldn't hear me, while the mic symbol was displayed and the call timer was running.

Went into the Menlo Park service center and they let me reboot the console (hold both scroll wheel buttons for 10 seconds). That did the trick.

I should have thought of that first, and advice anyone who experiences a small hick-up like this after upgrading, to try that first.

Updated to 4.3 last night. Noticed the warmer heater settings, also a little more window fogging which is strange. Charge timer worked perfect. Also noticed that it fixed the wheels displayed in all the menus to the 21"s that I ordered with, also the CF spoiler shows up now on the top down views.

Tried to update from 4.2 to 4.3 today. Instead I got the "12 volt battery is too low. Contact Tesla Service" message. Guess I'll be calling service in the morning. :frown:

I have installed the escort 9500 which allows me to see 12v system voltage. I have noticed that the voltage seems to increase when the car is driven. Goes from a low of about 12.8v to a high of 14.7v. If this is true for yours, you might be able to install update if you take a 10 mile drive before initiating the update process.

After upgrading to 4.3, the heat and a/c no longer work correctly. They appear to work, but the heater blows out cold air and the a/c hardly blows any air at all --even manually setting the fan to 11. They were perfect for me in 4.2. The charging timer and the seat heaters work correctly.
