I don't know if this is a .61 issue or just a repair that needs to get done. My horn stopped working sometime after the .61 update. Could be coincidence though since I don't use it that often. I do know it worked a day or two before the update and didn't several days after the update. I can still honk it via the app so it seems like just the button is bad. And, I do know it takes a fair amount of force to get the horn to honk.

I have a dedicated energy monitor on my EV circuit. I see absolutely no consumption by the car (other than charging according to the time values I set) when the car is sitting plugged in. The exception to this is if I actively do something like get in the car and turn the HVAC on or use the smartphone app to pre-condition the car. If I leave it alone, it draws nothing outside of off-peak periods.

I think that's consistent with what Tesla has said. The Model S does NOT cover its 'vampire draw' from shore power. But it does things like "pre-conditioning" (i.e. heating or cooling the car before getting in) from shore power.

Since installing .61 >90% of the time I have to push on the door handle 3 times to get them to extend/unlock. Prior to .61 I never had this issue. It doesn't matter which handle I push on. I've seen a variety of handle problems here - handles extending randomly, getting stuck open and closed, opening out of sync, but not a report of this issue by anyone else. Am I missing it or am I the only one?

Yes. Up until .61, I'd never touched the handle (the FINGERPRINTS! :crying:). It's still only maybe 15% of the time for me. Both passenger handles open about half a second after the drivers side handles too, again, this is new since .61, I had zero handle issues up until now.

Well, it actually does cover the vampire losses, but does so respecting any charge timer schedules you may have set. I left my car plugged in while I was away on vacation with the Charge Timer set for 10:00 PM. I noticed every other day a charge cycle would initiate at 10:00 PM, and the car would top up by exactly 5 kWh. I presume from this that the car loses 2.5 kWh / day to the "vampire" but that the Tesla threshold for when it needs to top up is 5 kWh.

That is great news. Nice to know if plugged in it will keep the battery from being bricked until they fix the hibernation feature.

I don't use the auto extend feature. Pressing on the handles is my primary method of opening the doors, so for me this is a very annoying issue.

A couple days ago I opened the driver's door to get in. Handles auto extended as almost always. However my passenger couldn't open the door even though the handle had extended. After trying a couple other things I closed my door and locked and unlocked the doors. This time my passenger could open the door... Hadn't seen this one before.

I had the same thing happen. I also have had one of my doors open when I closed the driver's door. When I took my car in for service they replaced both door handles with the updated ones, though I think the passenger issue is likely a firmware issue. Now I have two updated door handles and two old door handles. :p

After the update my car hardly charged at all, but i realized it changed my setting to the lowest charge watts for some reason, it also set my subwoofer to 12. good thing i didn't have yo drive far on my low charge!

Yup, same here. Both of my passenger side handles have now been replaced, drivers side is original.

After the .61 firmware upgrade, had several cases where my passenger handles were both out - with the driver handles in. The Service Center concluded the firmware update didn't complete properly - and forced a new update - which appears to have fixed the problem.

Along with the night mode staying on for the first few minutes after pulling out of the garage in the morning, the headlights stay on too (everything in auto). They both eventually shut off... At different times. This update hasn't fixed anything, but brought issues.... Weird.

My MS came with .61 when I took delivery on Friday. So far, the only issue I have is I'm locked out of Slacker and the main screen has restarted itself spontaneously a couple of times when I'm driving. Slacker is asking for a user id/password (it was there on delivery) and neither my personal account, or following TM's instructions on how to "reset" it by clearing login info have worked. I also have the usual bluetooth wonkiness with streaming media, but I don't necessarily blame that on the car, since I also have similar issues with streaming from my android phone to my other BT receivers.

.61 has been solid for me, except...

I've had three phone calls where I couldn't "End Call" with the red button on the touch screen. Even after multiple presses. Just didn't respond or even flinch. Had to pick up phone and end the call on it. But other calls I've been able to end properly.

Not sure if I can blame this on .61, Bluetooth issue, or on my phone.

But otherwise solid for me.

This has been my observation as well (even before shore power was available). It seems that once the Model S loses about 15 miles of range (on 85kWh battery), it charges back up to the current charge level setting and operates off the battery until the level drops low enough again, initiating another charge cycle. A Model S in "standby" (in neither very cold nor very hot environment) consumes about 150W of power from the battery as far as I can tell. This is about as much as small desktop PC so that makes sense.

Question is... does this 48hr 5kW drain/charge cycle adversely affect the battery life and/or capacity or would it be better to pull the vampire drain from the shore power? Maybe nobody knows the answer yet...
