Like others, I really want the valet mode. In the meantime, I made a "ValetShield" mod to prevent valets from pressing the frunk release. I did this after watching a valet pressing my keyfob to unlock/identify my car and thought it would soooo easy for them to press the frunk by accident, then innocently slam it closed like any other car.

And yes, I try to avoid valet when I can, but there are no choices sometimes! Besides, the Tesla demographic is much more likely to go places where valets are used, so this is a much needed feature.

Check out the mod here:

What I'd like to do it find the wire that powers the frunk release, and install a hidden switch. Then, if I need to valet my car, I can just flip the switch, first. Actually, I might want to just keep it switched off, so I don't accidentally open it myself.

.140 has re-introduced a problem I haven't seen for about a year: When I close the charge port, it no longer gives the "clunk" sound of the lock engaging until I get in the car and press the brake pedal. About 1 time in 5 the port will pop open as I press the brake, and I have to get out of the car and re-close it :cursing:

I don't think it is a result of .140 as I still get this occasionally and I am still on .115. It doesn't happen very frequently but it still happens so it could be that it occurs more often with .140 however.

Maybe. I got the various flavors of 6.1 very rapidly. I had .115 for about a day before .116 was pushed to me, then .140 in a matter of days.

Still .115 & I get the "brake pedal charge port door clunk"...I look out the side mirror to see if it really opened or check the dash for an alert, last week door popped open on the freeway while driving a few minutes after leaving Tejon Ranch.

I got .140. Music playback seems to be a more stable. Also, I noticed after plugging into work this morning that the charge port light seems to stay on, even after the car is locked. Not sure if this is because I'm using the J-adapter or if it would stay on for all....

The charge port stays lit for a minute or so after the car is locked, then goes out. At least mine has operated that way for about two years now, at least with my UMC and the J1772 adapter.

Unplug, wait five seconds and then close the charge port door. You should hear the clunk. Since 6.0 or 6.1 it seems a delay has been introduced. If I immediately close the charge port door after unplugging, the clunk doesn't occur until I get in the car and press the brake pedal to wake the car. If I wait a few seconds between unplugging and closing the door, I get the clunk sound upon closing the charge port.

+1, I found this to be my solution for a couple months already. I unplug, roll back the cord and then close the charge port door. Problem solved for me.

Cool! I'll check that out. My habit is usually to pull the plug and close the flap pretty much immediately.
