Just got my third 6.1 update in the past three weeks. Went from 6.1.2.2.? To 6.1.2.2.113 to 6.1.2.2.116. Where can I find the minor fixes between these versions? Release notes appear to be for major versions

got a reply from Jerome specifically about the braking issue. i posted this in the Brake Issue thread here, but it seems relevant here too.

"A software release "2.2.116" was sent to your vehicle late yesterday and is scheduled for installation today. This software includes a fix to avoid the condition described in the forums. The referenced software ".139" also contains the same fix. Based on what you wrote, I recommend we bring your vehicle in to one of our service centers for an inspection and evaluation of the braking system to ensure nothing is overlooked." (emphasis mine.)

and sure enough, my S60 got the .116 update last night. also kudos to Jerome for getting Tesla Service to call me and offer to pick up my car and drop off a loaner while they check it out.

Received a response from Jerome on a few things. (Jerome seems to be the go to guy for answers these days)

Most notably:

So, no more complaining about it only working in range mode. :p

There's still some ambiguity in Jerome's statement. It may have been unintentional. He wrote: "Torque sleep and improved range for Dual Motor vehicles is included in versions 2.2.139 and later regardless of the selected Range Mode setting. However, the amount of this improvement will be increased by enabling Range Mode which has other vehicle control modifications in addition to the HVAC behavior."

What I'm wondering is, is he saying:

a) that the increased efficiency from torque sleep will be seen whether we are in range mode or not, but we will see even better range, due to the other benefits of range mode, if we use range mode or
b) that the increased efficiency from torque sleep will be seen whether we are in range mode or not, but that we will see even more of that increased efficiency from torque sleep in range mode, along with other additional efficiency benefits of range mode.

I am hoping it is a), but based on the wording, I don't think we can be certain.

So... I wonder if it works? If the "torque sleep" does as advertised then you should be able go against the P85 without either car in range mode and have similar range.

This will be the case if a) above is true, but not if b) above is true.

Got the 6.1 2.2.139 update two nights ago for my P85D. Noticed a slight improvement in energy per mile going to work and back yesterday. Today I switched into range mode and driving to work was just like it used to be in my P85 (downhill drive of 13.6 miles using 4 miles of rated range).

I have received 4 updates to 6.1 (so far) ...

originally went from 6.0 to 6.1 : 2.2.113 (OTA) -> 2.2.105 (installed at service center) -> 2.2.114 (installed at service center to correct problems with going from 113 to 105) -> 2.2.115 (OTA)

I've been on .139 for 2 days and I just got another software update notification... apparently Tesla's code writing monkeys are busy writing monkey code.

So the fact that they are iterating and improving the software quickly is a bad thing?

It would be great if you could perhaps post your VIN, so they'd know exactly who to thank in the next release. :)

Seriously, these guys are working around the clock to add new features, crazy hours, aggressive deadlines, etc. And you want to insult them. There was no need. Perhaps if there were NO software updates and you ran into them at the local bar midday, laughing about getting paid for doing nothing, then insulting them would be in order.

But do you REALLY believe they want to do anything but get good solid code out the door for Tesla customers? If your answer is 'no', perhaps you need to rethink what you drive.

Let's go with you happened to pick today to swear off caffeine and/or quit smoking and you were just feeling a little cranky. Because that's not the Minnesota Nice I grew up with.

I just got upgraded to 6.1 2.2.140

The update took just about 1 hour -- much faster than the previous updates at 1 hour and 45 minutes (113 was my last). Surprising that this update would be smaller when it adds such a major change (torque sleep).

Would you be willing to expand on this? Are photos of the release notes available?

I might be inclined to say pushing code so fast isn't always a great thing... but I'm in software testing and we generally like lots of time to do our checks :)
If you're working a well defined agile process then you can actually get code out to prod pretty fast.
