Firmware 8.0

Yikes. So there is little/no change in the USB interface of the music player? What about searching for tracks on a USB device? Did you see whether that is now available with the v8 update?
There is a lot of change. Mostly worse. Searching does not search the local device, and the alphabet quick-scroll is gone. And apparently when you select an artist, it just lists their songs, without viewing albums by them.

(source: I don't have 8.0 yet, but I'm following all 20 bajillion threads about it)

Ok here is a question for all who have upgraded to 8.0

Does the upgrade maintain your favorites, driver profiles, networks, and other setting choices from your last 7.1?

If not, what should we check?

I've not noticed any options changing. That includes Summon not requiring continuous press and Auto Lane Change, the two that got flipped off all the time with various 7.1 updates.

It was pretty much get in the car, be a bit dazzled by the new UI, and drive off. I'll post some more thoughts as time goes on, but so far, the AP improvements are quite noticeable and appreciated, much in the ways everyone already said (smoother stop and go, sees through some cars and anticipates slowdowns in heavy traffic, more stable lane guidance)

Is there any way to know what percentage of the fleet has received 8.0? To monitor the progress?
Yes, all of that data can be found here: Tesla Firmware Upgrade Tracker Web App

Auto lane changing simply can't be done as safely as a car that has the ability to see at the rear sides for long distances to catch those cars that are coming up on your with large speed differentials.
Sorry, how is this different from how things have been since AP was released almost a year ago? Yeah, it can't lane change completely autonomously, but if it's user-triggered then use your mirror before you trigger the lane change, duh. At first I thought this might relate to the (rumored? promised?) auto-offramp, but of course offramps are a different story since you're not entering a traffic lane then, you're following a branch and absent some very bad misbehavior (driver overtaking on the right shoulder) there shouldn't be anyone occupying the lane.

Ah ik zie dat al één classic ook zijn update heeft..

I think that data is only people who have signed up at the site. Surely the are more than 25 cars updated. If that's reflects all of the upgrades it will take over 600 day to roll it out to the whole fleet.

Well this explains why my S75 hasn't been updated yet!

Correct those using the firmware tracker are sadly a small subset of the fleet and mostly from here on TMC. I know of no source for fleet wide data. But I am sure Tesla may know... Just that they are not telling.

I decided to wait and see what others experience with 8.0 but then....................
Yesterday got the notification and immediately installed, later heard of a bug stopping the rollout. Today again installed 2nd notification with no delay. :)
After reading about it and liking mostly what I heard I figured why wait? I have not noticed more nags w/ AP but also have not taken a long drive.
I really like the new media set-up which makes it easier to switch USB,radio, Slacker (not called that anymore) etc..........
