Just did an update last night, together with update on the Android app. Both went well. Not sure what new features were added. I'm sure it is harmless, and likely well tested before release.
Nothing exciting, too bad no update on iOS app yet can only blame Apple I guess, improvement on TACC not noticeable so far.
I think the update may have more to do with security as Hackers were able to shutdown a Tesla. Here is a WSJ article which indicates physical access was required to hack in. Tesla indicated that a patch would be available by Thursday. Hackers Take Control of a Tesla, Sort Of - Digits - WSJ
New android update allows valet mode to be activated from phone and includes "message from Elon" to send e-mail to your friends with the Referral code.
Had another firmware update two days ago. I have the car slightly more than one month, and already done 2 updates. Its revision speed is much more frequent than my desktop computer. I do think this is a good thing.
however after this update (a week after delivering the P85D), starting up of the big screen turned very laggy. (starting up of the car isnt as bad. but slow in general compared with ICE)
Yeah, now you mentioned, it does occur to me it is slower. I would say few seconds slower than before.
Ok my car is less than a week old and replaced a family estate c 6 yrs old. I'm not understanding what's slow about my Ms. I turn up, open the door, sit down, put foot on brake, shift into D and pull away. Couldn't be any faster, and misses the insert key & turn ignition bit so don't know how my old banger could have np been quicker either. What am I missing?
my normal sequence is open the door, keyin whilst sitting down, turn before properly seated but pressing the brake. and go. or, sit down whilst pressing the brake and press the button asap, and go now i need to sit whilst pressing the brake, wait for car to wake up, then shift into D. probably 10 seconds slower, but nothing too deadly. the screen just gets laggy since it always ask for wifi connection that i dont have.
The middle console touchscreen is on early, that is fine. However, the gear display was lagging by a substantial amount of time, feel like 6-9 seconds.
I normally put something in the back seat first so as soon as rear door is open dashboard shows the big Tesla logo then as soon as I sit down I could then shift the right hand stalk to get moving.
Let me check if I turn on the energy saving feature. If it WERE true, why it lags longer now than before? I still think the new software is causing the delay.
No, I have not enable energy saving feature. It truly is lagging by many seconds. I counted perhaps 15 seconds before I can engage forward motion.
