See you there! Mac
I think I've worked out the logistics of joining with my Roadster. Now I just need to convince the wife!
Tvuolo, ROADSTER!!!??? I have been to a BUNCH of TESLA rallies and there was only ONE roadster EVER!! It was Cottonwood, BTW. If you can convince your wife, you will be the STAR of the show! You can LEAD the parade! We will make you the, uh, CHAIRMAN! Or WHATEVER! Hope you can make it! BTW, if you need a charge in Colorado Springs, just mention it, we are happy to charge or just SEE a roadster! Mac
I think I've convinced her. However, we now have another obstacle... my AC compressor might be out. I have an appointment with the Denver Service Center next Wednesday to find out. It's drivable, but only short distances, and only in cooler weather. Thanks for the charge offer! Here's our plan, assuming the roadster is fixed. Let me know if it sounds good. I've never had to charge in the wild before. I'll be testing my (bulky Tesla) J1772 adapter this week. * Leave Westminster, stop at the City Admin Building in Colo Spgs, and charge for an hour while we eat brunch at Over Easy. On Sat, it should be $1 to park and free charging. * Meet you guys at Boriello Brothers around 10:30a. * Drive to CC & Parade around. * Leave and head back to the City Admin Building for a 2 hour charge while we eat a leisurely dinner at MacKenzie's Chop House. * Drive back to Westminster. It looks like there are a number of other chargers around town with places to eat nearby, in case the City Admin Building is full or ICEd. I was in the Buffalo Bill Days Parade in Golden, recently. The roadster really attracts the foxes ;-)
Tvuolo, hope you get that A/C fixed in time! Your plan sounds good. For amount of charging in Colorado Springs, go to evtripplanner.com to make sure you have enough charge before heading off to Cripple Creek and Denver. As a matter of note, for all participants, BE SURE TO RSVP to the gmail address listed in the first post. They need to prepare your CERTIFICATE and FOOD!!! Please let the City of Cripple Creek know you will be there so they can prepare. Mac
I hope that you have one of the Model S to Roadster Charging Adapters for use with the HPWC's in Cripple Creek. See Model S to Roadster adapter for details and contact HCSharp if you want one. In the mean time, PM me if you want to borrow mine. Have Fun!
Hey! Cottonwood chimed in! Good to hear from him. About the rally, we are on our way to TEN cars! Be there or be square! Be SURE to RSVP to the organizer, see above post! Mac
Hey, Tuvolo! Did you get your A/C fixed? Are you coming? We would LOVE to see you! UPDATE: This is turning into a wonderful event! We have SEVEN confirmed Teslas. We are on our way to TEN! Milo is bringing the TESLA tent! Events in Cripple Creek are still being revised and modified. I will keep you posted. It should be a great time talking to each other and the general public. Come see us! Mac
I'm planning on going even though I don't own a Tesla (yet). I'll be happy to take the group photo at Cripple Creek and send everyone a copy.
Tesla driver number EIGHT just signed up! Come on Tvuolo! You would be NINE!! You don't need no stinkin' AIR CONDITIONING! Hahahah! Mac
Haha! It's not for **me** it's for the wife! And the batteries. Mostly the batteries. Got a clean bill of health from the service center yesterday, so RSVPing now!
Here is a flyer from the City of Cripple Creek for this rally! Looking forward to joining with my MC Red P85D! -Dan
We are soon-to-be Tesla owners (delivery expected end of Sept), and we would love to come up to Cripple Creek Sat. and "talk Tesla's" with you - if that's ok?
Hey, Rocky! Of COURSE!! Everyone is invited who is interested in Teslas! It will be a GREAT chance to talk Tesla with ACTUAL OWNERS! See you there! Mac - - - Updated - - - By the way, we are still holding at NINE cars with one more POSSIBLE! Come on Tesla owners! Come see us!! Here is a link to a Gazette (local newspaper) article about the rally: http://gazette.com/electric-vehicle-rally-finds-warm-welcome-in-cripple-creek/article/1558150 There is a photo of yours truly lounging in my frunk! Hahahaha! Mac
A friend and I will probably be driving down as well. We're both potential Tesla customers (and I've already reserved an X). Hopefully I'll be able to attend next year's event in my own Tesla.
@RockyMtnAnn: I may be a COSprings owner soon, haven't ordered yet. I'd love to find out where you are in town. I'm riding with Napoleon... to the rally in his car, see you there...
I'll try to attend but my wife may not be able to make it. I'll be heading down from NE Thorton. We have a 2013 P85.
So I know the rally is for Tesla only but if I happen to show up in my Leaf could I get some time on one of the charging stations? I'd love to come see all the Teslas and I will be an owner myself once the Model 3 comes out. I was interested in the Drive Electric Week event that popped up on the map in Cripple Creek too, but has since disappeared. Anyone know if this replaced it?
