First road trip in brand new Model 3 LR (with pics!)

This is going to be a short post because I'm at work, but I just needed to say how impressed I am with this vehicle! It is by far the best engineered, best driving experience and best road handling of anything I've ever piloted.

We made a 1400mi holiday trip from Portland, OR to Missoula, MT right after I rolled out of the dealership, picked up my love from her work, got home, packed up and hit the road with less than 10 miles on the odometer. ;)

The month before, we had taken a 2400mi California road trip in my 2000 Honda Insight, with manual transmission and NO CRUISE CONTROL. By the end of every day, my knees were killing me!

Contrast that with the Tesla, where each day of driving, I feel refreshed! It's like the car equivalent of going to the spa... Climate control, heated seats, you can stretch while being driven by autopilot, etc. Amazing! We did 95% of highway and about 85% of in town driving on autopilot, monitoring it and paying attention, but getting to RELAX so much along the drive.

Supercharging was great along the way, never a wait. Stayed at a hotel with a Lvl 2 charger on the way there, so left topped up in the morning (for free). :) On the way back, we did the 8.5 hr drive in one day and felt great when we got home!

Attaching some photos in no particular order...

Thanks for reading! I had to share my joy over my new car with some people who I know will get it.

Cheers!
-joe

Welcome and congrats on the purchase! This will be the only car you've ever owned that gets better by the day. It's completely unlike anything that's come before ... glad you enjoyed the road trip! Longest I've taken so far has been 250 miles each way - looking forward to really stretching its legs.

Is there a way to visually tell if it’s a V3 SC? Without plugging in?
V3 charging cables are noticeably thinner than V2 cables. Stalls are not paired so are not marked “1A, 1B, 2A...” etc. (though there are reports of V3 pedestals with V2 labels for some reason). Charging hardware cabinets look different. See Pictures of V3 Supercharger cabinets

Love your story! Congrats, and happy to hear you have a great first road trip. There will be many more. :D
