Flashing light underneath door handle

Does anyone know what it means if the courtesy light underneath the driver's side door handle flashes on and off about once every second. My car has been doing this off an on for about two months now for no apparent reason. To get it to stop, I have to open the car door and then close it. Doesn't make sense?

Light bulb is failing. It is easy to replace.

At one time my X was trying to close the driver door every 15 seconds even when it was closed. You could hear the mechanism working. A big reset took care of the problem. Have you tried that?

Don't think of a Tesla as a smart car. Think of them as cell phones with wheels.
