Florence AL Dest Chargers (Florence, Muscle Shoals, Tuscumbia, Sheffield)

It appears the University of North Alabama is installing six chargers on the west side of the Mathematics building. The electrical is stubbed in for four 50 amp and two 40 amp branches and one of the installers said it was going to be four Tesla chargers and two EV chargers (J1772?). The lot is faculty/staff parking and like most university campuses, parking is at a premium. The lot is usually nearly empty after 4:30 on weekdays and on the weekends. Downtown Florence is within walking distance of the University and we have two live lions you can visit during the day (Lion Cam -Leo III & Una - University of North Alabama). A brief list of some of the things you could do in the Shoals:

Frank Lloyd Wright's Rosenbaum House Rosenbaum House designed by Frank Lloyd Wright – Florence, Alabama
Alabama Music Hall of Fame Alabama Music Hall of Fame :: Home
Muscle Shoals Music tours MSMF - Muscle Shoals Music Foundation
Indian Mound and other city museums Things to Do - Visit Florence
Cruise the Natchez Trace NP Natchez Trace Parkway (U.S. National Park Service)
W.C. Handy Music Festival and Birthplace W.C. Handy Music Festival: July 21st - 30th, 2017 - Florence, AL
Helen Keller Birthplace Helen Keller Birthplace - LW

Plus awesome fishing (best smallmouth bass lake in the U.S.), kayaking, biking, hiking (Cane Creek Preserve, Shoal Creek Preserve), Billy Reid Shindig, Alabama Renaissance Faire, UNA Summer STEM Camp, and other fun stuff.

I'll post an update with pictures and other info when it is up and running.

I talked to the master electrician this morning. He has completed the installation of 4 HPWC units and will be installing 2 Clipper Creek units soon. He also shared that the university will set up another destination charging site across campus in a student parking lot across from "The Commons". That location will also have 4 HPWC and 2 Clipper Creek units. So, soon we'll have 8 HPWC and 4 Clipper Creek units. WooHoo!

They are operational.

It turned out to be a total of 12 stations. Four HPWC (charge at 40 amps) and two Clipper Creek (charge at 32 amps) at each location. One location is a faculty /staff parking lot adjacent to the Mathematics building and the other is a student parking lot across from the University Commons.

The parking spaces are ICEd weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to around 4:30 p.m. so don't count on rolling in during these times and finding a space free. Outside of these times and all weekend, parking is a non-issue and you won't have any trouble finding one available for charging.
