No, I did the New Port Richey since it was closer. No wrapped Teslas...really no wrapped cars, period, everyone with original paint. I did see a wrapped matte green Telsa on my way home, and I have to say, it was fugly. It seriously was nasty to look at, and I hope that was just a "soon to be changed" look. Other than that, all the cars looked super amazing there, some being five years old now.

The Major of the city was there too with his model S, and I have to say I like him a lot. He is making a massive push for more charging stations around the city, and they already have about 8 locations, all of which are free. I am still making a petition for my job to get them installed, crossing my fingers it will work. I should have given it to the Major to post around HAHAHAHAHA. I signed up for the next event in November in Oldsmar; hopefully, I will attend that with a Model Y this time.

Also, going to tintmanfl for my tint since they seem to be decently priced, and at the event, many people did say they are who they went with because of reputation. It is a drive for me, but they seem to know their stuff, and they have the XPEL Prime Plus that I want. I am getting everything done except the roof since Tesla already puts great tint on the roof. So it looks like Disney and a tint job all in one day lolol.

Also, going to tintmanfl for my tint since they seem to be decently priced, and at the event, many people did say they are who they went with because of reputation. It is a drive for me, but they seem to know their stuff, and they have the XPEL Prime Plus that I want. I am getting everything done except the roof since Tesla already puts great tint on the roof. So it looks like Disney and a tint job all in one day lolol.

Which location? There is one pretty close to me.... The Winter Park location is in auto-row and a pretty busy area so I'm avoiding that location.

I was going to go to the winter garden location but a local shop is willing to buy the prime plus to save me the travel. But the guys over there were very helpful and awesome. If I don’t use AJ I will for sure use them.

I’m now using a service that’s right up the road from me called AJ tinting. They are going to buy the xpel prime plus for me and only charge me $750. APG wants $1000 and honestly too steep for me when I can get the same material and service for $250 less. My friend is getting her tint with AJ and I’ll show some pictures of their work after it’s done. EV studio was another choice I liked and I think they were a tad cheaper than APG. But honestly tintmanFL has some great pricing if you can make the drive. Also very informative videos.

Tint Studio is also a Llumar Select Pro installer...the only one I know of in south Hillsborough County. Like I said earlier, I've had great success with the Llumar films. A lot of people rave about Xpel on this forum and I'm sure it's a great product but Llumar has been producing a great product for many many years.

Was the matte green one a model S? If so, I saw it a couple weeks ago in New Tampa. Actually were side by side for a while. It did not look good, I agree. It was a weird hue and just looked yucky. Was not impressed.

AJ has the most reasonable price for the land I lakes area. I’m sure others were charging Tesla tax. We had tint scheduled with AJ for last week but had to cancel. The driver’s side window was making noise so we wanted to get that fixed with Tesla first. The noise has stopped now but car has to go to paint shop. The rear bumper color is off compared to the body. Has a yellow tint to it

When I called, AJ said they use 2 xpel options - color stable or ceramic, your choice.
Ceramic costs more than color stable but pretty close. The difference is how much heat rejection they perform.
Looks like tintman has a video comparing them.

Isn’t color stable and ceramic generally terms tossed around with 3M films? I never hear anyone refer to the Xpel options in those two terms, but they are clearly used to describe two different lines of 3M films directly (on their website and in their brochures).

Looks like xpel has those too. I googled and xpel has color stable and ceramic options on their website.

Sorry I didn’t respond to the both of you sooner, school started back up. AJ seems awesome and see some of their work online and it’s perfect. As mentioned, they do carry XPEL and reading online and watching many videos many people pick XPEL hands down for their Tesla. Quality seems the same but XPEL wins over a lot of shops it seems. Also, tintmanFL did a nice video of why they prefer XPEL over llumar which they used for a long time and still do. That being said, just to note that AJ uses XR Prime and not Prime Plus. So if you want that slightly higher protection you will have to request them buying it. I’m using it only cause my car is parked outside and not in a garage. So, more protection the better. Honestly if using a garage, prime will do just fine but if you want that extra blank for $250 more ask for prime plus.

Ps cannot stress enough that tintmanFL have some cool videos on tint level and quality and brands, worth the watch.

Taken at face value, MDY's coming off the assembly line with the new front castings. I assume this is without a structural battery tray (4680).

I personally watch my man Joe T. I love the fly over but he usually has good news. But about the front, I didn’t watch the video, if it’s talking about gigatexas then for sure it’s going to be front and back with the single pieces. If they are saying Fremont is doing single front that’s news to me cause I’ve heard nothing about them getting a gigapress. Tomorrow we will probably get lots of news at the shareholder virtual conference. Since it’s being held in Texas at GigaTexas there is bound to be news about the model Y since that will impress them if he can say they are on schedule or ahead of it. Either way, we should get some news about something tomorrow. My hope is that gigatexas will start delivery this month to the east coast while Fremont worries about west coast. I’d love that news lol.

More YT videos later today have mentioned the front castings. It's just not plausible they are coming from Fremont. Fremont must shutdown to reconfig for the front casting. I will wager that is an unmentioned contributor in MDY delivery times extending so far, so fast (Jan -Apr).

I watch Tegmyer and Texas Terrafactory to keep pace with the progress there. I also think they announce Austin startup tomorrow at the Q3 summit.

Roll the dice. Do us east coasters get a late Fremont or early Austin. MDY?
Any more EDD delays could deliver to us a front/rear cast MDY with a 2022 VIN, and I'm fine with that.
