I saw the VMR V802 during memorial day in Santa Monica's supercharger [Pro tip: skip this charging location, slow, few stations, long lines, mall is closed too so no bathroom or anything...], and I have to say they look absolutely stunning! each flat surface on them is reflective, not as a mirror but like an expensive jewelry, if the guy would have said that they are $1500 each I would have believed him, really looks amazing in person. And this is not even the type of design I generally like, would have bought them if they were forged.I went with VMR V710FF for ~$350/wheel as they are flow formed but still have a relatively high load rating (1800 lbs) though they definitely aren't the lightest at 23 lb for the 19x9.5 version.
Ha! forgot about this brand, sadly they don't make the size I want (either 18*9 or 18*9.5) which is why I initially scratched them off my list but considering all of the above I'll give them a call tomorrow and see if maybe they are the oneIt does seem like a damn good price and maybe too good to be true, previously i think Titan 7 was the best value forged wheel (and they obviously look great too).
Thank you !
[Yes I realize its mentioned, with pictures, few posts up but that was for Model S so I flagged it as noise in my mind and skipped it lol]
And .. tbh the markup on all wheels must be pretty much crazy, my assumption for MartianWheels was that they just charged reasonably, didn't assume any foul play, its now down to overseas manufacturing (or really bad alternative, but considering that two sets showed up on unrelated youtube channels ... product is real, worst time to start a company I suppose...)
