He also looked at the yellow band around my center screen (just came up a couple weeks ago). He said Tesla still doesn’t have a fix, but acknowledged that he had heard about the UV light treatment.

Apparently the UV fix is slowly rolling out.

Permanent fix: unknown, even tesla have admitted they don't know how long it will last and if it's permanent.
Free: Yes, the first time. Apparently every additional time will be charged, but Tesla won't and can't get away with charging for something like this.

My driver side developed this a few days ago, along with the yellow band around the screen. I sent an email about both issues and a day later a mobile service appointment got scheduled without any other information. Still trying to figure out what they're planning to do on the mobile service date, but they didn't even ask availability. My work is super flexible though so I'll be fine.
