Chosen for some reason I booked tickets for us immediately. Never been to LA or Hawthorne. Any advice from the natives? Any logistical issues with Ubering around the area? Planning on staying at Manhattan beach. Would love a good restaurant, although I know there are countless.

Feel very lucky. Dreamed of electric cars as kid (yeah I know we all did).

Thank you all in advance for anything you could offer.

Uber is well established in Los Angeles. The Hawthorne venue is in an industrial neighborhood, the area around it is not particularly up-scale and there isn't anything nearby that you would want to do there (except tour SpaceX, which is next door!). Traffic and parking will be significant issues at the event. Manhattan Beach is probably a good choice for your hotel, it is far enough south to avoid much of the cross-town traffic. Send me a PM if you have any other questions, and congratulations on getting a ticket in the lottery!

In Manhattan beach, check out Post Restaurant:

    Manhattan Beach Post

Cannot call Uber at LAX. You'll be able to be dropped off with Uber at LAX.

Thanks for the info! UBer does not work at LAX, but I assume we can get a cab at a queue.

MB Post and Little Sister might both get a visit. Restaurants look good!

I'll try my best to record and post. Never been good at that. Always caught up in the moment.

    Thanks all!

Uber & Lyft both now work at LAX for pick-up as of 2016. I've used them both. Their pick-up point will be in designated areas "Ride-Share Stops" that are usually between two terminals (i.e.between terminal 5&6) and in the UPPER departure area (so you'll have to go up one from the lower arrivals.
