I just researched and bought one tonight! thats very cool skdave!
Remember that you are required to notify a control tower when operating within 5 miles of a controlled airport. We recently had one that the owner lost control of drift across the airport property here which closed the airport for about an hour. Prosecutions were contemplated and then dropped by the airport authority.
To your point DJI has software / geo-located controls built into their drones. http://flysafe.dji.com
Here are the safety enhancements they include: https://youtu.be/vimM1nnzljo
That's very cool. I'm glad this company seems to be ahead of coming regulations!
Good quality vid and very stable.
Just curious, who's the naked person that can be seen through the window at 2:37? ;-)
I have the same DJI Phantom 3 Pro, and video quality looks great in 4K!
DJI is the tesla of the Drone world. The best by a long shot.
I read today that California is trying to approve a law that flying a drone over non-owned property will be considered a Trespass.
I'd be interested to see how they define both "drone" and "over". And further, the class of operators. Are police similarly enjoined?
For clarity, it's over property, but under 350' AGL. So Legally you could fly between 350-500' AGL.
That's what I heard too. As long as you're above 350', you're good. The Phantom 3 by default limits you to a 400' ceiling, but you can change that setting to go way higher. As with everything else, make sure you know what you're doing.
