Does anyone know if Tesla uses a different FM receiver in cars sold in Japan vs the rest of the world, or if it's the same hardware with software differences allowing users to select different channels? (Is it even reasonable to assume that Tesla's FM receiver can receive the entire broadcast band in Japan?)

In Japan, the FM broadcast band includes 76-88 Mhz, which in the US traditionally was used for TV channels 5 and 6 (although in many cases, stations marketing themselves as channel 5 and 6 now use different frequencies); this spectrum is immediately adjacent to US FM broadcast band. TV on the Radio? A dramatic proposal could extend the FM band into the newly vacated TV channels. | Prometheus Radio Project advocates for using a digital encoding instead of the traditional analog format on the TV spectrum that might be allocated to radio; I'm not necessarily convinced that digital is the best approach. Digital Radio Mondiale | Consumer Receivers isn't leaving me with the impression that the digital receivers would be as inexpensive as a simple analog receiver.
