For what purpose do you use “vent windows” function?

1. To passively release hot hair from parked car over time? i.e., It can be 60F outside and cabin can be 95F.

2. When preconditioning/cooling a hot cabin? i.e., pushing hot air out the vented windows with AC on.

3. Other?

I think I've only done it a handful of times with my Tesla. I used to do it more with other cars. Maybe I don't use my car on hot days like I used to.

Cooling the cabin down from 105° takes less time and energy than does one at 130-150°.

I use the vent windows feature, while parked inside our garage, primarily to rid the car of any smells, e.g., takeout food, my kids' general stink after a day of running around, or the funk that emanates from the HVAC.

Yes, nice feature to vent extra heat outside.
This was one reason why moon roofs becoame very popular,
by allowing to vent a car very quicly after been parked outside on the sun.

Note: However, I would not keep the windows cracked open in the street,
as some one will just find funny to break the window.

Cooling the cabin down from 105° takes less time and energy than does one at 130-150°.

Interestingly it also takes less time and energy to cool from 80° than it does from 105°. Curious how that works.
