Ford "invents" the frunk?

A short item breathlessly reports that Ford has filed for a patent on front trunk for F150.

What the frunk? Ford patent reveals electric F-150's clever cargo bay

Actually, it seems to be a useful variation on Tesla's frunk idea. Access from above, but also from a swing-open fake front grille and pull-out bins. Probably useful because the height of an F150 hood would otherwise make access to its frunk difficult.

Tell me about it. I have a 2011 F150 and can barely see into the engine compartment. I have to climb in to check the oil.
I'm 5' 6"

Also first car was a 1961 VW Beetle. It had a frunk. Nothing new about a frunk.
