I've seen this pop up a handful of times, and I originally thought it was just a glitch and/or people doing "creative editing" (accidentally or on purpose) of the tags in the markup.

But I suspect this is a pretty clear example of the forum software acting up.

Observe post #210 here:
https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/posts/1831531/

Then scroll up to post #209:
https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/posts/1831466/

The #210 hockeythug post is clearly quoting the #209 adiggs post, yet the attribution and the link point to msnow's #162 post:
https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/goto/post?id=1827361#post-1827361

This is likely to cause some confusion and hurt feelings if it arrives in "just the wrong way" in a heated discussion (especially in threads about climate).

Please take a look to see if you can find something off in the software.

Thanks

If it helps you to troubleshoot why this happens I did have a draft of a post that was saved from yesterday that I believe was addressed to msnow that I never sent. I did clear it before I typed my new one message though. Strange.

Could you maybe have cleared out most of the message but not the [QUOTE tag? Perhaps that was scrolled off the screen so you couldn't see it?
