Moderator Voice: let's just finish with the pile-on now please. Our friend made a good point about communication and it came across in an unfortunate way; we'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that he re-read his own posts and decided not to leave them out there.

I suspect he has never even ordered one. Just an opportunist came here to join the bashing party.

I've wondered about that as well Carl. fwiw, I'm not suggesting we all start trying to draw conclusions I doubt we can, but I think it's fair to wonder.

FWIW, I think both of these posts are uncharitable and frankly rude. I'm OK with a suggestion that he is overreacting or has a short fuse, but to accuse him of outright lying or trolling without any basis for such an assertion reflects poorly on you both. I'm totally in love with a car I don't yet own and I understand that we are all cheerleaders of a sort, but to be so dismissive of any dissenting voices is wrong.

I agree and can verify 100% that he has 2 cars on order.

I assume everyone here knows about Jerome's letter that was emailed today concerning the P85D delay:

Thank you for your order ofa P85D. I trust you will be delighted with the car!

Unfortunately, we experienced some delays in the production of the first P85D.I apologize for any inconvenience we are causing. We have now resolved thefinal concern, which was the airbag deployment for the upgraded seat design. Wealways want to err on the side of caution. We are building and shipping P85Dcars now. Your delivery specialist will contact you shortly to finalize thedelivery date.

Many thanks for your support and your patience!

Best regards,

So there is at least one issue that has delayed production/delivery. I am glad my vehicle is still in the queue and will be built after these issues were resolved. I was hoping for an early Christmas present....

LetsGoFast, I may be mistaken, but I believe that the one poster in question accused Tesla of lying about the range, and accused Tesla about lying about deliveries all in the matter of a few days. I did not accuse him of lying about anything, but I expressed my wondering about possible deception (and I specifically said I was not suggesting we all try to draw conclusions about what we probably can't). What's more, I know someone was asking about bringing up a lawsuit against Tesla a few days ago... I'm not sure it's this same poster, but my memory is really of only two posters writing anything close to that nature. Finally, the guy, deletes all of his posts and vanishes. Could I have been more charitable as you say, yes, you're right about that... but I did wonder. I did not accuse, but I wondered, and given the frequency false statements are made about Tesla (and run with by the media) I think it's fair to wonder, and as I see it, that's far from being "dismissive of any dissenting voices."

It looks like he deleted all posts, as well as the lines for his car on the google docs spreadsheet. I suspect he cancelled his orders and will not return.

I guess after having a thread named after you (Osama is unhappy...) by the moderators and having your posts moved out, I could imagine doing the same. I appreciate the cleaning up work which is necessary, but naming the thread that way was not necesssary IMHO.

Just realize the thread was renamed - good.

Yes, I actually thought about what happened here that might make me want to delete all my posts and scram if it were me (and I hadn't even thought of the specific point you made). Sorry Osama about my post... you didn't need any more of this.

I don't know him personally but I believe he's the same Osama from Canada that also posts or used to post on the Cirrus Pilots forum. I sold my Cirrus a few years ago and haven't been on in a while, and he upgraded aircraft as well. If he's the same fellow I recall that his input was thoughtful and interesting and others had mentioned that he's a quite accomplished businessman. My point is, your post is most likely inaccurate.

I think we're pretty much off the "he never ordered cars" idea. I recall he even posted screenshots of both his cars' screens from My Tesla after they went into production. That would be a lot of work to be doing just to be pulling one over on us. I am confident he had ordered two P85Ds, and I expect most others here are as well.

One aspect of a successful businessman like Osama (I have to assume) is that once a deal goes sour "to him" then he's out. Kind of like the guys on the tv show "Shark Tank". If the product seems good but for their own personal experience, they don't fully buy-in, then "they're out". Of course, he may also be thin skinned and unable to delay his own pleasure and thus isn't really a fully mature adult :)

With the airplane, the various cars he posted about - he seems to like the latest toys available to someone with wealth and enjoyed people reading about his purchases.

Just in case anyone missed this 1 1/2 pages back:

Nigel, hmmmm. Not really sure what "heavy moderation" means. The comments are civil, appropriate and don't violate any rules of this forum. If you believe they do it would be good to know what violation might warrant heavy moderation.

On Tesla communication, Osama has had no specific feedback from TESLA about the status of his car. I don't know why we have been receiving 1st class communication from my team and he has not. I also know Osama as a professional whose thinking is quite precise. He has build multiple businesses and knows on how to deal with customer communication. Last not least he has 1st hand experience with very high end car manufacturers and dealers. It would be useful for Tesla go give him a call and have a private conversation.

I leave it at that.

I think so locations DS's are much busier than in other locations (i.e. Tesla sells more cars there). I think that allows the DS to be much more proactive in the slower locations. In Seattle I know there are only 2 DS employees. When I got my S85 my DS only contacted me once with the form email to introduce himself and tell me a lot of information about how the process would go. Everytime I tried to contact him it was ignored unless I happened to get him on the phone. Emails were never answered. The last time we talked was a week before my delivery appointment and he left me with some doubt about that appointment. Come the morning of the delivery I wasn't sure I was taking delivery. I called my DS but got voicemail. I ended up calling the Service Center and they looked on the calendar and said yes I was on.

Now with my 85D I haven't really gotten close enough to delivery that I need the DS yet. However, I had asked that I get a different DS, since there's only 2 that meant a particular person. He handled my trade. I wanted to cash out the payment on the car (sorry not into giving Tesla a very big loan for a few months). I'd been told repeatedly 7-10 days after the trade. He had been very responsive to my emails over the delays in the trade (for reasons that I won't get into here). Turned the car in on the 20th of November. 7-10 days comes and goes and I finally on December 3rd asking what the status was. No response. I wait until Monday and then try and call. Leave a voicemail. Wait half the day and then I call my Owner Advisor. After our initial conversation he called me back within 2 hours, told me a check was being cut that day and overnighted. I had the check by noon the next day.

I think what happened with the responsiveness of the DS was simply, we got into December and he suddenly got very busy. So I think the differences in service comes down to a difference in how appropriate their staffing level is.

The lack of communication from Tesla regarding the P85D rollout is a bit disappointing. If they hired a few motivated individuals for a "We screwed up Response Team" that can take handling customer issues to another level - perhaps like those who moderate internet gatherings with a certain narcissistic "je ne sais quoi" day in and day out - things could get better. When you spend 6 figures on a vehicle you should receive a phone call and/or email per week with updates, especially once things get delayed. It's really not that difficult.

In any case if you ordered a Tesla, you will get it! I'm sure they are not holding cars on purpose to piss people off however they should start under promising and over delivering going forward, instead of the reverse which seems to be their normal way of business.

It's so difficult waiting patiently for the best Tesla vehicle ever created!
