Found a 75D new inventory - lucky!

I had been really teetering back and forth on ordering a 75D but taking delivery in feb even though the tax credit should be gone then (order was placed but considered cancelling within the 3 day window). And then, by chance, I get online at 3am PST and find a handful of 75D had been released for sale! I quickly grabbed one knowing my order payment would transfer over.

I’m in the SF Bay Area and the car I was told was in Bellevue, WA. When I talked to my OA and DS today in the Dublin, CA store they said the car was already on a truck down and should hopefully be here within a week or so. Does anyone know what the backup in delivery has been at Fremont lately? I can’t imagine my car will take more than a couple days to make it down from Washington, but I’ve also seen horror stories of cars just sitting on trucks in Fremont for weeks as things get backed up. I’m super excited and this is going to feel like forever waiting for delivery! Any tips or advice is appreciated.

Build:
75D
Solid Black
White premium int
Dark ash trim
Premium Upgrades Package
Enhanced Autopilot
Subzero
Standard Suspension
Built May 2017, but I’m told by my OA that its software has been upgraded for 4.2 0-60 time

This is what I’ve heard re: inventory cars. I hope it’s a good sign the car is already on a truck headed down here but who knows where the truck is actually going and what stops it needs to make. I was quoted 14days intially which is what most new inventory cars say on the website...

If I had to guess, it isn't actually transport, but cleaning them up to sell is where they take the time. Many inventory cars are demo/loaner cars.

Also, they may sell the car, but it is in use by a customer, so they do not recall it. But wait for it to come back.

If yours really is on the truck, your probably in good shape.

OP, how many miles on your car? I am in the same situation. I don't know that most 'new inventory' are demo/loaners... Mine had 50 miles on it.

Like you, I originally ordered a 75D and had a February delivery but then found a new inventory with just about exactly what I wanted. It was in Dallas and has been shipped to Houston for my pick-up next week.

It happened very fast for me. Probably 30 days and most of that on me as I traded my vehicle in a different state and my schedule was bad etc...

Well, slight update — I’m so impatient, and was back and forth between 75 and 100D that I decided to ask my OA if they had any 100D in my local store. They did so I’m staying local, going 100D fully loaded w/800 miles and not worrying about the transport anymore. Let me know how your delivery goes! I’m originally from the DFW area, so I’m glad to see some Texas deliveries increasing. I’ve been trying to convince my dad ever since his first test drive out here last summer.

Over 80 inventory S70s currently listed here (but the numbers fluctuate wildly):

Check with a Tesla Product Specialist to find all inventory.

THIS ^^^ Always call a local store and ask for an owner advisor. They will have access to a lot more than you can see, and they'll be able to tell you specifically where the car is not just "Los Angeles Area".
