Not surprising since lots of the fossil fuel industries are running scared, I was hoping that with the global pandemic people would wake up to what we need to do for a sustainable future.

Interesting, but this says more about the French Govt running scared of rioters/protesters than anything else. They also banned ads on climate change and high prescription drug prices. French society is notorious for country wide strikes, and the govt no doubt just trying to not give their population another reason to protest. Not sure it has much to do with the power of French car makers.

Mais biensur, they need to justify the subsidies to bail out their legacy car makers every ten years.
Twenty more years and the imams will regulate it all.

Maybe the French want to keep people actually pedaling their bikes so they don't plump up. Not everyone considers the American body archetype to be ideal.
