Freak lighting bolts kill 300 reindeer in Norway

Summary of NPR article:

323 of herd died.
At least 70 were calves.
At least four more had to be euthanized.
The Norwegian Park agency took samples of the herd to test for disease.

Worse part is total herd is only about 2,000, so about 1/6 of them died.

No people were injured in storm.
