Free EAP? Did anyone else get it?

Really? How long did that take them to find out?

And have they disabled it? Wondering if they can’t. And it’s just a empty threat.
One month and I do believe they have every right to turn off an optional feature for which I didn't pay. Its actually my wife's car - don't know if it is still working.
Tesla is referring to the as-configured 5k price vs the after-purchase 6k price. Nothing shady there. OP can either pay the 5k to keep it, or they will disable it and it will cost the standard 6k to activate later.

Check that your car is configured for it. Go to Tesla.Com and check out your account and your car. Should look like this:

I suspect there is a population of owners who don't want to speak up in fear of having the "free" service taken away from them.

So the real question is this.....has anyone had the "free" EAP service actually taken away from them once they were notified by Tesla of their mistake?

I know i wouldn’t speak up lol.

I’m mad that I chose to pay $5000 for it instead of getting it for free.

During deliever Day it was very busy. I waited like 1hour and 45 minutes instead of 1 hour like most people there. They were scrambling to find my car and it was not cleaned very well. I'm guessing they didn't program it to not have EAP as the employees seemed a little stressed. I was worried that there was a mistake or a panel error. The only thing i found was some trim an employee managed to push in correctly. My car is near perfect.
In fact i drove the whole way home and used cruise control. I only discovered EAP after fooling around with the cowbell thing to see how it would work....and viloa! EAP!

If it goes away, so be it. I enjoy driving my car. Although EAP is certainly WOWing everyone i've given rides too.

That is false, there are plenty of people that didn't order EAP, and didn't get it. And regular cruise control works for them.
I agree this is false because someone posted on here last week or so saying it was "on" and the delivery specialist caught that it was "on" during the demo/intro and turned it off because it wasn't paid for. What happens is ALL the cars have it on BY DEFAULT and it has to be turned OFF, and I am going to assume the delivery center has that job. I think they just miss it, and I am hoping they miss it on mine too :D :D

Same boat here - delivery last Wednesday before end of Q3 - do you still have the EAP 5 months later, and have you done an OTA update yet? Some on other threads are suggesting that it’s likely this gets caught with an update.

That leaves me wondering, is full self driving (FSD at 3k) also a software enabled / disable too?

To extend on what @r0xx0r said...

FSD needs HW 3.0, so for current production, it is not just a SW bit flip. Soon, all cars will have HW 3.0 and it will be a pure software upgrade. Buying FSD after delivery will also entitle you to the HW 3.0 upgrade.

EAP does not currently need HW 3.0 for full functionality.
