Free Supercharger Miles inaccurate deduction

This happened to me too. I emailed support. Here is what is happening. The supercharger credit is actually a kwh credit. Someone on the subreddit calculated that 5000 miles = 2000 kwh. Thereore 1000 miles = 400 kwh. The deduction is being calculated off of the non-bonus amount and then applied to the bonus amount. In my situation I charged 10 kwh and got by bonus deducted by 125 miles. Here's the math:

10 kwh / 400 kwh = .025

.025 x 5000 miles = 125 miles.

This math works out for everyone else's deductions as well.

Seems like their fix for people not getting the 5000 miles credit was just to multiply the standard bonus by 5 on the app and not change the back end math.

So, I was right? ...

Maybe the 5x promotion is being applied to the miles used :)

Ok, so no official update yet. But I have got a response and they are aware of the issue. I have no doubt this will get fixed sooner or later:

I received the exact same response. At least they understand that there is a problem and will fix it.

My loot box said 5000 miles. I went to a supercharger with about 150 miles remaining on car. Now my loot box says 4638 miles remaining. Couldn't possibly have put 362 miles of charge on my car. I emailed them over a week ago and haven't heard anything.

Yep, you were spot on. 54kWh.

I sent an email out to [email protected]. I'll send another one to this email as well.

How do you access the 'loot box'?? I had bought a Tesla 3 with a 5000 mile credit promised, but it just now kicked in (3.5 months later). I want to know how to monitor this and double check their calculations.

Not sure what you are saying here in your “conclusion”. Bottom line is (approximately) 240wh is equal to 1 mile. 1000 wh is equal to 4 miles. 10kw is equal to 40 miles. (Not 125 miles)
