Freeway Collision

Had a collision with an object lying on freeway, couldn't avoid it completely in time since there are two cars in front of me blocking my view.

The right side of the car have the covering plate fall off.
I have insurance with Tesla and I reported it.

But after second thought, my deductible is $1000 and I think it should be less than $1000 for Tesla to fix this?
I also don't want my insurance rate to go up.

Anyone have similar experience to share?

I don't know how much it costs for Teslas, but for other cars, this is~$100 part and usually just snaps into place.

That is a 39 dollar part on the X.. I would not pursue the insurance route.
Instead, schedule a mobile service visit asap and they will probably charge about 150 total to come out and pop it in.
