Almost two years to the day, I finally picked up my Model 3. I was supposed to pick up earlier this week but a mistake on my MVPA meant we had to delay a few days. The Fremont delivery center was bursting at the seams today with all the deliveries scheduled for the end of the quarter. We checked in at the entrance at our allotted time and proceeded to then wait for 40 mins before someone gave us an update on the car. Another 30 mins later, we were escorted in to the staging area where the delivery specialist spent exactly 12 mins with us pairing our phones and going over only the important features of the car. He was very apologetic about the rushed experience but apparently 12 mins per person/car was all he was allowed. We then waited 30mins to be able to sign our paperwork and then another 20 mins before we got copies of the paperwork and then the car was brought out front. We were able to take our time and check everything out to our heart's content and fell absolutely in love with the car. All the wait, the rushed experience, the lack of coordination, everything was forgotten. This car is unlike anything else out there. Even my husband, who's always been somewhat skeptical of my ongoing obsession with a supposedly inanimate object, was blown away by it. The audio system is top notch and is a pleasure to experience music on. The seats are pretty comfortable and I'm already used to the lack of instrument cluster. In fact, I enjoy being able to adjust the steering wheel exactly where I want it without being afraid of blocking the speedometer. Brought her home and plugged in to the wall connector and was thrilled to see it charging. I can't take issue with a single thing about the car right now, there is none. For everyone still waiting for their car, the wait is absolutely worth it. Looking forward to pleasurably long work commutes (if there is ever such a thing). Everyone, meet Astra.
I don’t think that is how they run normally. But being the tail end of Q1, they were definitely over scheduled and under staffed for the day.
As bad as this might sound, It would be nice to see this as a growing problem as it relates to Model 3 production ramp. Thanks for sharing and congrats on your new addition.
Partial. I don’t want to add any more tint to the tinted sections. Doing 35% up to the top most defroster line on the rear. It should be pretty seamless. 35% on the back windows and 55% on the front windows. Can’t wait!
I picked up my 3 in Fremont on Friday. I like this car a lot. I'm about to drive it back to Memphis and post videos on the way. Here's the first:
Congrats and thanks for the nice video. Enjoy your drive home. I am scheduled to pick up my M3 up in San Diego on Monday, 4/2; assuming it is ready. It was still in transit on Friday.
