Fritchlie Electric Car at the Colorado History Museum

Thought this was pretty interesting. Went to see it today.
100 years ago this year, after inventing and building better batteries, 28 year old engineer Oliver Fritchlie started making these "Extended Range" all electric cars in Denver. They sold for 3 1/2 times the price of a Ford, and he had showrooms in five cities. He drove it to New York City to demonstrate.
(Sounds familiar  )

The last known Fritchlie is now at the Denver museum, less than a mile from his factory.

Oh, after the cars, he invented and promoted an affordable wind turbine electric generator, which sold well to farmers before Rural Electrification...

Great clips. THANKS
I saw in the archives at the museum a listing that included five electric car manufacturers in 1919. Of course, by then they were in the process of losing to the Oil Cos and Detroit. Several of Fritchlie's patents were battery chemistry. Some things never change .....
