From Lease return to Use Car Inventory timeframe?

Hello. I recently turned in my leased 2017 MS as I plan to go carless working from home and living in a city.

One of friends is interested in buying my MS from Tesla’s used car inventory.

How long does it take to go through from lease return to used car inventory?

Any insight would be great.

Great question, in my experience it varies quite a bit. Tesla recently changed their program and does not "refurbish" cars, slo it might get faster. I turned in my 2015 Model S P90DL in 2018 and it took ~2 months. I took over another lease in 2018 and returned it in early February 2020 and it still as not shown up for sale. I think some of the cars end up in service or loaner land??

I'm not sure how long it usually takes but not all Tesla trade ins end up as Tesla used inventory cars. Some also go to auction. Your car could end up at a dealership somewhere.

I would do a google search on the VIN and see if it shows up anywhere (else?).

My previous model s that I returned went straight to auction. I was hoping to see it for sake and possibly purchase it but no such luck
