I just have some deep scratches. It seems like because it is plastic anyone could repair. I've also been told that the factory paint is somehow formulated different because its going on plastic instead of aluminum. Is this nonsense?
I took the bumper to two different 'certified' Tesla repair shops. One is Corona, ca and the other in Walnut, ca. I have additional repair work that will be paid for by insurance. So I asked each shop if I authorized them (I'm guessing $5,000 to 8,000 tho insurance quoated $2,300) to do the work what kind of price break could they give me on the front bumper that will be out of pocket. One said $900 and the other $2,800. How is this even possible for identical repairs? A local hole in wall said $500.
