Front dash scratches

While trying to use some wipes to wipe down the dust on the front dash, I managed to leave some scratches that don’t seem to want to go away. Has anyone had this happen? Any resolution? Thanks.

Don’t bother asking about this at the Santa Clara service center, they arrogantly told me no one has ever had their dash replaced due to these scratches and it is all user error (which is true to some extent, but the dash is extremely fragile).

What the hell did you wipe with? Sandpaper? I wipe mine with microfiber all the time I never get this. Holy cow.

Litterally just had this happen to me today.

Used a microfiber cloth and use very little pressure. Suuuuper pissssed right now.

I have been researching this all day. Supposedly 303 aerospace protectant does wonders for these scratches.

I have been researching this all day. Supposedly 303 aerospace protectant does wonders for these scratches.

Let us know how it goes with the 303. I have a bottle and haven’t tried using it in my car anywhere (yet) but used it for many years in my BMW 3 Series.

The one i linked is what i found others suggesting. Supposed to leave a nice matt finish (instead of the ugly matt scratches lol)

Likewise, I use a plush microfiber towel to lightly dust the dash, steering column and center console. I don't apply any pressure, basically let static pick up the dust. So far, no scratches.

Maybe they were being generous? Or they were under the impression the car was delivered with that damage?

I just use a dry swifter sweeper pad and gently brush over the top. Can keep reusing them too.

This looks like superficial marks. I think the blue 303 might help
to make it look better, although I'm not sure what exactly it does.

Those don't look like scratches.

They look like discoloration due to trying to clean your dash in direct sunlight.

Microfiber and water is what I normally use to clean the dash and console. I’m curious what you used to get these scratches.

Did you get your windshield tinted? Maybe the tint shop used dirty rags to wipe up the dash?

No tinting either.
I’m not expecting a replacement which I think would be an overkill but would like to know how to resolve as well as prevent it.

You’re correct. How does doing that under the sun cause something like this?
