Front doors (driver and passenger) puddle lights quit working - rears still work

I searched and did not see this discussed anywhere, so here it goes.
Within the last few weeks, both front door (driver and passenger) puddle lights quit working.
I have had two OTA updates in the last 2 weeks also.
I don't recall when the stopped working exactly, as I am not always out and about in the evening/night with the summer daylight being longer.
But last night is when I noticed it, and about 2 wks ago a friend commented how nice it was to have those when getting in the car - so my "time-boxed" reference.

The back two doors still work.

So are puddles lights controlled by the s/w, or is it a simple pin-switch or the like?
It is hard to believe that both LED puddles lights burned out, let alone at the same time.

I will answer my own post!
I had some time last night, so I switched out a puddle lights from the rear doors and put them in the front, and they worked.
Still seems strangely odd that both fronts seemed to have burned out relatively at the same time.
New lights on order - brighter ones for all 4 doors.
