I started this thread because I'm seeing some posts and tweets that aren't raving. I can't say I hate it, but when I first saw it I didn't know what to think. I still don't know. It's not a deal breaker for me, I still want one when they are CPO's in 5-6 years. But, I'm a little, just a little, disappointed.
okay... I know this is hard... REALLY HARD... but. Just for a moment, think about what the Chevy bo---wait for it... Bolt. That compared to the model 3 is like comparing a golf cart to a Ferrari. just sayin'
I love it, reminds me a lot of the Roadster front end, with a flair of Model X. Nosecones belong on dino cars. I always thought the Model S front end would look better with a MX-like revamp. The front end has quite the aggressive look.
I'm thinking they blurred it on purpose, and they'll bring out a new front end for the reveal, part 2
I was a bit weirded out by the Model X when I first saw it, so I'm going to give it some time. First impression was a little underwhelming though. They could still change it a bit before production, so who knows.
Oh come on, it is a great car. Things might need a little tweaking. I am sure you will get used to it. I was wowed, the roof, interior specs, price, Amazing!
The lack of a grill is what seems to throw people (me included) off a bit. My whole life I have stared at cars with grills. Boring ones, cool ones, classic ones, etc. When I see the Model 3 front end I like it, because I understand why they likely did it.. reduce drag, increase range. I'm in.
I must agree the front end will take some getting use to. I like the sloped hood, but the blunt front end needs something, even if it's a faux grill. Why didn't they include the model X slit grill in the blunt nose. It would have broken it up a bit.
I like everything but the front end. It just seems unfinished. I am sure they will make some design improvements so it's not a deal breaker by any means. Definitely won't cancel my reservation.
Why continue with a vestigal appendix that serves no purpose? It's time to get people past the point of thinking that cars "need" grilles. I agree it does look a little different, but I applaud Tesla's boldness.
