I actually am working on a DIY one made of polycarbonate. It's a little bit tricky since there isn't much room and the grill is actually curved. On my 3rd revision & will test fit soon

Nice job, but will it be strong enough at the joints (screws influencing integrity) and did you use UV-proof polycarbonate?
    Eager to see it mounted

Don't you dare put a front license plate on the Model 3. Doing so is a crime against humanity.

Hold on a minute. Is there no real plan to allow for front plate attachment? On my S, they gave me the option of mounting my front plate and did so during my pick-up visit. I assumed the same would be true for the 3.

Yes, they do provide a front plate mount.

I'm just using some scrap polycarb, this is purely a prototype for test-fitting! Thanks for the UV-Proof Polycarbonate tip!

It came with a Peel-N-Stick, which I didn't really like that much

Perfectly understood! But I think it's a requirement in some states

As an Illinoisan, I'm very familiar with the requirement. Seems like a really simple thing that they should have been able to provide as an accommodation.

This one lowers the plate to the grill-level , leaving the nose as-designed, instead of the standard mount, ruining the typical view. In Holland frontplate is obligatory.

There should have been a couple of pre-threaded holes to mount.

I’m pretty sure it’s tape, not drilled. It attaches under the bumper (in the grille opening) and uses tape to stick to the bumper outside.

My front plate frame is still in my trunk (no tags yet) - it uses tape only to attach to the bumper, pretty strong tape is my guess

I posted this on anther thread, but here it is mounted. Already working on another revision that has a 7.8 degree tilt to make it vertical & moved up about 5" to clear the grill.

Tony, are you possibly going to make some of these to sell? I prefer this over tape or holes in the bumper.
