Sadly I will be selling my Model Y that was just purchased in September 2020 due to military orders to Spain. Not worth the hassle to try to take over there. The car is located in San Diego, CA.

I am new to Tesla and just started shopping. In this case MSRP $52,000, used 6mo asking price $53.5... Am I missing something here? Normally biggest depreciation hit is in a first year. Does Tesla appreciate during the first year? I would expect a discount for a used car but it seems it is not the case with Tesla?

There are a few reasons -- First and foremost, there is typically a waiting time from placing an order for a new Tesla to actually taking delivery. Sometimes this can be a couple months or more. Buying a used car means you get it much quicker.

Additionally, some (but not all people) may value the addons done to the car, assuming they are functional or tasteful. In this case, there is a full tint and ceramic coating. Not everyone may value this, but if someone was already going to have those things done to their Tesla, it'll be of value. Lastly, this car comes with enhanced autopilot which provides some amount of value (it's a bit tricky since it's inbetween autopilot and the FSD package, and cannot currently be purchased in the U.S.)

Actually EAP brings a lot of value since it actually works well now and it's no longer available.

Mine $53+ $5K if you want FSD = $58K. You stil get everything but local streets with EAP. FSD has been a sunk cost until recently.

No waiting on Cali Rebate, no delivery fee, reduced sales taxes.
