I sold my Model S so these are now for sale. Only 5 months old. Tires are 7/32 per SC last week. Includes balanced wheels (non-staggered), tires, TPMS, and TSportline center caps. There is a scratch (see pic) on one of the wheels (thanks tires store) and all others are flawless.

I saw a local sale in my area recently for these wheels. Checked them out in person and actually saw a hole(about 3mm wide) in one of them in the lugnut opening on the side. Was this a reflection of quality of the rims, or improper installation? The guy told me that they were installed at a very high end import auto shop, whatever that may mean.

Does a hole there create a potential for catastrophic failure?

No way for anyone here to tell unless seeing them in person. Looks like maybe improper lugs were used or perhaps improper tightening. There are a lot of these wheels on the road and I have not heard of failures, defects, or bending. I haven’t gone looking for this sort of thing since buying the wheels but I did a ton of research before buying them and found only happy owners here on TMC. Quality appears high.
