You ask in that thread if anyone knows who the other people are who have an Elon-signed car. I do know of several, but for privacy reasons shouldn't give out their names. But there are several - I'm absolutely positive because I helped facilitate a number of those signatures.
Have you looked at Founder Roadster prices compared to later Roadster prices? I think you'll find that the early cars, even the one owned by JB Straubel, haven't brought a premium. They've been priced comparably against other Roadsters with similar options/miles/battery health. If any Tesla is iconic, it's the Roadster. Without that car, there would be no Tesla.
As I wish for all selling their cars, I hope you get what you're asking. But I've been part of all those 'is it a collectible? will it be a collectible? when will it be a collectible?' discussions & I just don't think you're being realistic.
Update: To clarify, the premium for a collectible comes once it becomes a collectible, not in advance, hoping it will go up in price. There are a few Roadsters being held in anticipation of that *someday*, but none are fetching a collectible price. THAT will happen as there are less and less Roadsters on the road. There were only somewhere between 2400 & 2500 made worldwide, every week or so brings one less due to some accident. You have the large number of Model S on the road working against you, plus the fact that it was not the first vehicle Tesla made.
tl;dr: You get a collectible price once a car has become collectible. We're not there yet.
