FSD as an upgrade later?

Am I correct in thinking that FSD can be added to the car after I have taken delivery for it? Doing the maths it would be cheaper for me to activate it (that's if it costs £5800) than including it in my lease which over the term seems to add an extra £1000.

Truth be told I couldn't afford to add it with the initial outlay to lease the car anyway but would could add it in a year or so.

Yes you can add it at any time. However the price goes up over time, as they add new features it gets more expensive. There is expected to be some new features later this month, that will likely increase the price.

Interestingly enough, the source of my order page has the text '£7,000 if added after delivery'. With PCP it worked out ever so slightly cheaper over the term than outright, not as much of a saving as the performance upgrade though.

Don’t know what your lease duration is but on the quotes I got it added less than half that over the term. £1000 sounds excessive.

Whilst there is reportedly some FSD stuff coming out this month I’d be surprised if we see any of it in UK/EU. Hopefully I’m wrong, but I doubt it. In that context I think Tesla would be a bit silly to up the price of it.
