on the other hand you only paid 5K for fsd while newcomers have had to pay 10k. Why shouldn’t they get it first? They paid more for it.

Not so!

Early FSD paid 2 prices pre-delivery:

Enhanced Autopilot $5,000
FSD $3,000
---
Total =$8,000

For those who waited, post-delivery adds $1,000 to each:

Enhanced Autopilot $6,000
FSD $4,000
---
Total =$10,000

Then, most would pay an additional $2,500 for MCU2 update because MCU1 is just too slow for the new computer.

That's a total of $10,500 to $12,500!

Hey guys it was a series of tweets. the basis is this -- he is INCREASING the beta - and first said -- hey let us know if you ant to be considered. Then -- they were inundated with requests on his tweet. They pulled it back by saying -- they are going to write software and provide the button. The button will advise Tesla that you want to be considered for the expanded beta. Not everyone will get the expanded beta. How many? Criteria? Nobody knows. Its the way Tesla rolls. So - watch for the button........
Um, that's not at all what the tweets said. Prior to the most recent ones that muddied the water about the "next release" (which was earlier stated to be the beta version with thousands of improvements) and expanding the number beta testers, Elon specifically stated that the button would be available for all (with FSD, of course) to download the beta. It was not a queue or request.

So we are still left wondering whether there will be a "button" on our screens by 3/17, and if not, when, given the April date Elon most recently stated for the next big release.

I paid 6K for fsd in 2019... looks like you got boned....

sort of silly to include the mcu in your calc....

Exactly! Early adopters got penalized, not only in price, hardware but also in the wait.

In 2019, Autopilot price is built-in but prior to that, there's only Enhanced Autopilot because plain "Autopilot" was 2014 era Hardware 1, single-camera Autopilot (not 2019 era 8-camera Autopilot or 2016 era 8-camera Enhanced Autopilot ).

Later adopters got newer hardware.

It's almost impossible to run MCU1 with HW3. Some people can but most can't. Later adopters don't have to pay for MCU because it's no longer MCU1.

I know and this is sad about Early adopters. They should already have the list, just start sending the update to them first.

how did this turn to politics and is it in any way related to all of the recent backtracking by prominent lawyers and trespassers (facing massive lawsuits and years in prison) who are now saying "i was just kidding, man!"

trespassers is an optimistic term.

Then ipso facto, your claim it was sarcasm is inaccurate.
well, technically, libtard was the only part that was italicized.

Since someone said that Tesla and Autopilot blossomed under a conservative(lol) administration i figured i’d point out how full of *sugar* they were.

Does anyone have any guesses as to what the legal language that will be applicable when someone pushes 'the button' for "fault some driver", ... I mean, "Full Self Driving"? It would be interesting to see how the Tesla lawyers spin this into something that eliminates liability for Tesla.

In the old days, many people didn't want to read so they just look for the "X" that marks where they are supposed to sign and did the signing.

In a computer age, many people just don't want to read except the buttons saying "Yes" or "No", "Accept" or "Decline".

Either way, when something goes wrong, some consumers would say they didn't know that meant they consented...

When it goes to a court, if they admit those are their signatures and they admit that there's no way they would be in this situation if they didn't click the consenting button then most jurors would honor the signatures or the click button even though they claimed they didn't know what they did.

On the other hand, if they said it's a fraud because those are not their signatures or that click didn't come from their fingers, that would be another issue!
