FSD purchase in Delaware?

I’m considering potentially getting the FSD in the future. I was wondering if anyone has experience where they have purchased the FSD in the state where they don’t have sales tax.

I live near DE and was wondering if I can go there and order FSD and get away with paying sales tax. I’m guessing it’s probably tied to the state that my car is registered to but thought I’d ask.

I think your resident address is what the tax is based on, not where you purchased it, unfortunately.

I think you are right. Although I will try when I get a chance to be there or maybe I’ll try to briefly change my contact info on Tesla webpage lol.

Do let me know how that works out. I'm like 20 minutes from Delaware.

Though I don't think simply being geographically located there will work. I'm in New Jersey often and their sales tax rate is higher than in PA (where I am / registered), and I looked at the FSD total + tax while there and it was the same as back home.
