The Financial Times published on Sunday an interesting article about BEV and more specifically li-ion battery production. They do make several points that have been mad e here, notably that Chinese BEV production has become the world's largest and that Chinese li-ion is headed there, partly with substantial investment in key commodities.
There are no real surprises here for most of us, but the article reflects the FT tradition of careful research.
In the end they conclude that Chinese are not energy density leaders but are champions of low cost. However, watch carefully when they begin to devote themselves to increasing energy density. Just look at solar panels for instructive history, say the FT.
