That is price for one british gallon, one liter or one pint?

Please state the unit of measure also, not just the price.

I can remember when UK prices were simply £ / Gallon. Politicians decided to force us into accepting pricing in litres .. so that each subsequent petrol tax rise looked like a smaller price increase per litre than per gallon !

Anyway, £1.20 is per Litre means its approx £5.50 per Imperial gallon, or $8.50.

For the cost of a UK gallon, an EV will drive approx 300 miles on £5.50s worth of night rate electricity, which is nearly 1/10th cost of using a petrol car in the EU.

Oh, and just to confuse things, a USA gallon is 20% smaller than an Imperial one …

Or you could see the change to litres as part of going metric. The same way that reasonably recently when approaching roadworks you used to see 300 yards, 200 yards, 100 yards ... and now those distances are in metres. (Over here yards aren't used much for distance at all, it's pretty much all in feet except for some sports).

That's because there are 20 fluid ounces in a British pint, but 16 ounces in a US pint, but the US ounce is larger than the Imperial fluid ounce. Because standards.

Ah, but I'm far more cynical than that.

If they really wanted us to go fully metric we'd have all distances on road signs in Km instead of good old fashioned miles. Cynics suggest that miles were kept as it keeps the 'numbers' smaller .. People over here would be less inclined to travel 160km, as its further than 100 miles ;-)

Depends on the definition of fluid ounces … !
